It is really not that confusing to understand what a guy thinks is attractive.

So if you came to learn how to please guys, you came to the right place.

To the girl who clicked on this article hoping to read a list about what guys think is attractive in order to appeal to them do not exit out this article. You’ve been punked!! Joking, but not really.

This article is for you. So stop planning on exiting this article.

Want to know what guys think is attractive?

Well, here’s the truth:
1. Every guy is different.
2. It does not matter.

I remember being so fixated on being appealing to guys. I desperately sought validation of my worth through them. I would wear certain clothes if I knew guys liked when I wore it. I would do my makeup a certain way in order to please guys. I would avoid jumping in the pool when around guys because my hair would frizz. I would change myself for who God made me to be, in order to be someone who would be good enough for a boy.

I let what boys thought of me define my worth. When in reality my worth came from the One who breathed life into me.

The truth is humans can never be pleased with the world. I cannot fully satisfy a guy. I am not pretty enough for every guy to think I am attractive and there will always be someone prettier than me.

And the truth is when I enter the gates in Heaven God won’t ask me how many guys liked my instagram bikini picture or if the guy on the football team ever knew my name. How a boy views you is temporary, but how God views you and whether you chose to believe it or not is what controls your destiny.

Do you put boys opinion above what the Kings of Kings thinks of you?

Do you care more about pleasing boys than pleasing the One who hand-crafted you in the image of Him?

Do you idolize opinions of others, and strive for their approval instead of striving for a life that sings praises to the One who paid it all?
I’ll be the first to admit I have struggled with this and still struggle with this. We as girls are tempted to idolize how guys view us.

But from girl to girl: we need to stop.

While you are searching for an article to tell you what you can do for guys to like you, God is calling out your name and begging you to see how much He loves you. God right now wants you to run to Him. He wants you to let Him determine your worth. He wants you to love His masterpiece you see in the mirror.
We must focus on bearing fruit and not gaining admiration. We must work on helping others worship Christ and not worshiping ourselves. We must work on not caring what boys think and focusing on what is unseen. We must focus on what God thinks of us, and not finding our identity in boys.

God created sunflowers, chocolate and kittens. He created fluffy clouds and the way sand feels when it hits our feet. He carved the mountains and painted the sea. And He loves us more than all those combined. He looks down on us and says “yeah that One’s mine”.

Your worth comes from Him. And I found my worth when I realized how unworthy I was for Christ. I found my worth when I saw how awful my sin was, but God sacrificed His Son so I may be forgiven. I found my worth when I realized that the beauty of grace is it makes life not fair.

And now I care more about living for Him then attracting guys. Yeah, I’m not perfect but now I want my body to be a living sacrifice for my Savior. I want my life to be about serving those He also loves and being someone who points others to Christ.

We were created in His image. He died for us to be forgiven of our sins. We serve a God who conquered death. Those simple reasons are why we must know our worth and walk in a way that praises the Lord.

So here’s to the guy who dumped you, hasn’t texted you back or doesn’t treat you how you deserve. Forget about making him like you. Here’s to the hot boy who still doesn’t know your name or the guy who used you back in high school. You are worth more than that and to be frankly honest it is a sin to put what they think of you over how the King of Kings thinks of you.

You are a masterpiece, God’s proudest accomplishment and loved by the Prince of Peace. Believe it, own it and live it.
Find your worth in Christ and stop searching for ways to attract guys. Focus on living in the light.

“So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” —2 Corinthians 4:18

I love Jesus, diet coke and sunflowers. I wish I lived in the mountains, but love the two states I call home--Louisiana and Texas. I can watch Criminal Minds all day and dream of one day owning an ice cream truck for fun. However, my main goal in life is that more girls will realize the worth they have through Christ Jesus--and with Him and Him only we are enough.
