Back home, there has been two suicides this week. Although I do not personally know these two high schoolers, I felt tears drown my eyes. I continually pray for those who knew these beautiful children, that the peace of God may be with them.

I can’t help but beg everyone who is going through a hard trial to remember that you are here by no mistake. You are here for a purpose. And whether you believe in God or not, you can not deny that your life has the ability to change the world you live in for not only yourself, but also for others.

Do not give up on life, when life hasn’t given up on you.

How crazy is it that you were the egg, out of approximately 400,000 that formed you in your mother’s womb? The sperm that formed you was the fastest out of a bunch that day. You are no accident. You are no mistake. You are here because the big guy upstairs thought “yeah that one I want that one, this world needs this guy.”

I’ve been at a point in my life where I felt like suicide would fix my problems. I contemplated it and questioned my existence and purpose in this world. But that day I questioned it, I cried out to God and felt Him tell me that I was here by no mistake and all my temporary problems would only form me into who He created me to be.

God was right. All the heartbreak, tears and loneliness helped me become the disciple I am today. My trials became my testimony of God’s strength.

I know there are many others out there who have questioned ending their life for even harder trials than I could ever fathom. Although I may not be able to relate or give you a good enough answer to your problems, I can promise you one thing: life hasn’t given up on you yet, and you are here for a purpose – so don’t give up on it.

God created puppies, chocolate and mountains. He created sunsets and waterfalls. He created laughter and dreams. And He also created you, and you are His favorite creation and His greatest masterpiece. You are worthy of the life you are given. Do not give up on life, when life hasn’t given up on you.

I challenge everyone reading this who has ever thought about giving up on life to talk to someone. People want to help you. I also challenge you to breathe in and out. You feel that– that is called a purpose. That is God saying “you are here for a reason.” You are a living, breathing, beautiful masterpiece of the King of Kings.

Life is tough, and what you are going through is by no means easy. However, I pray tonight that you will be reminded that your existence is important. There is only one of you that will ever walk this Earth. You are here for something bigger than your trials. There is good in goodbye, rainbows after rainstorms, and a purpose for your life. Do not let your mind lie to you and tell you you are not worth anything to this world. You have a purpose, a reason you are breathing. Do not let your trials or temporary circumstances steal your joy. Trust in your Creator.

Romans 8:28 “And we know that God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”

I love Jesus, diet coke and sunflowers. I wish I lived in the mountains, but love the two states I call home--Louisiana and Texas. I can watch Criminal Minds all day and dream of one day owning an ice cream truck for fun. However, my main goal in life is that more girls will realize the worth they have through Christ Jesus--and with Him and Him only we are enough.

  1. Just read your post to my daughter who has been crying because she knew one of the boys who died this week. What a powerful message to all children. The times we live in today are not easy for our children and they need to hear this message everyday. Thank you!

    1. Thank you Mrs. Stephanie! I pray for your daughter and that she may have comfort from the Lord. I pray for her friends and that together they can be united under the joy of Christ. Keep being a mother who encouraged her daughter to grow with the Lord–I hope I can be like you when I have a child! God bless

  2. Grace you are a very blessed young lady. You have such a special way with words. Thank you for being the fine Christian that you are.
